Meet Desaray, Julian, and Patrick

Meet Desaray, Julian and Patrick!

This summer, we want to introduce you to some of the players, families, coaches, and volunteers who make up RBI Austin. Meet three of them here!

Meet Desaray!

In her first year of playing with RBI Austin, Desaray is on the 13U Softball Red Sox. She has a bubbly, outgoing personality and can strike up a conversation with any girl on the field, whether they are on her team or not!

Her hobbies outside of softball include playing other sports like volleyball, soccer, basketball, and kickball. And she loves eating pepperoni pizza!

“My coaches are awesome!” Desaray said. “They make our whole team laugh a lot. They encourage us and make us believe we can do anything. And they let us have fun every time we come out to a practice or game.”

RBI Austin loves when entire families get involved. Desaray has multiple family members playing in the league this summer. Her brothers Anthony and Adrian and her cousin Israel play on the 10U Kid Pitch Astros. Her other brother Johnathan plays for the T-ball Nationals.

Desaray’s favorite position to play is first base because she likes to get people out. She loves every opportunity that she gets to play the great game of softball!

We hope to see you and your family for many years, Desaray!

Meet Julian!

This is Julian’s first time playing with RBI Austin and he plays on the 12U Kid Pitch Longhorns. Julian says he enjoys playing with RBI Austin because “you get to try your hardest and have fun at the same time!”

His favorite position to play is right field. He loves chicken alfredo and pork chops, and he wants to be in the military when he grows up. He also plays soccer and can do some tricks, including juggling the ball on his head. His favorite MLB team is the Texas Rangers.

Meet Patrick!

Patrick is four years old and will start kindergarten in the fall at Kocurek Elementary.

This summer is Patrick’s first time playing baseball, and he loves it! He is on the T-Ball Aggies and had a game on Monday. Patrick had so much fun that he could not stop smiling!

In addition to baseball, Patrick enjoys playing outside with other kids. His favorite foods are yogurt and fries because they’re yummy!

His mother Jessica is volunteering with his team. She first heard about RBI Austin through Total City Sports (TCS), a sister organization and also part of the For the City Network. At TCS, Jessica volunteered as a team mom. When she heard about RBI Austin from another volunteer, she wanted to sign Patrick up for a fun summer of baseball.

“I love the atmosphere with RBI Austin. The interactions between parents, coaches, and players are awesome. When Patrick became old enough to play, I wanted to jump in and sign him up!” Carrillo said.

Patrick and Jessica – thanks for being a part of the RBI Austin family! We hope you have a fun summer!

Jr. RBI Summer League is under way!

Summer season is officially here!

The third Annual Jr. RBI Opening Day on Saturday, May 30th launched our 2015 season. In addition to meeting their coaches and teammates, players and families celebrated the start of our summer league with lots of sno cones, sausage wraps, Raising Cane’s sweet tea, and carnival games. There were also special appearances by former Texas Rangers players Jim Gideon and Donald Harris. It was a fun day for all! Check out photos of the festivities on Facebook.

“Jr. RBI Opening Day 2015 was a huge success. We’re grateful for the parents, volunteers, and sponsors who made the event possible. Specifically, we thank AM Technical Solutions for being our Jr. RBI League presenting sponsor and Austin Christian Fellowship for providing volunteers.

The first three weeks of the season have been equally successful for our 34 Jr. RBI teams, and we’re excited to see how the Lord moves through this 2015 season,” founder and director Matt Price said.

We have a record-setting 496 kids playing this summer, and since games began on Saturday, June 13th, Jr. RBI teams have played 35 baseball and softball games across East Austin It’s been an awesome few weeks filled with growing relationships and lots of fun on the diamond.

Want to cheer on a team at an upcoming game? Check out our Jr. RBI game schedules here.
