Summer Spiritual Content | Faith and Perseverance
A message from your Chaplain Commissioner, Josh Murray:
Welcome to another summer of RBI baseball and softball! As we partner with you again this year in the spiritual development of our young athletes, we have targeted our focus to prayer and Scripture. The weekly curriculum is built primarily around these two things, and each devotional will be highlighted with the areas we would like coaches to focus on. The longer devotional and additional Bible passages included are optional.
- Week 1 – Fight the Good Fight
- Week 2 – Coming Up Short
- Week 3 – The Will
- Week 4 – In the Clouds
- Week 5 – Neutral or High Gear
- Week 6 – Spiritual Strength Training
- Week 7 – Patience, Peace, and Perseverance
- Week 8 – Working for Victory
We will share the remaining content as it becomes available.
If you have any questions on the curriculum or the spiritual development of your team, feel free to contact Josh at (303) 999-6476 or joshua.murray303@gmail.com.

Summer Spiritual Content | What is Love?
- Pick Someone to Lead. Identify one member of your coaching staff (or even a parent volunteer) who can be responsible for reviewing thecurriculum each week. With so much going on during a practice, it can be hard to remember to fit it in, but if it someone’s specific responsibility, it’ll make it easier.
- Build It Into Your Practice Routine. If you haven’t already, build this time into your practice. At the end of every practice, your coach can huddle every one up and have a 5-minute debrief on this week’s content.
- Get Creative + Stick With It. Feel free to pick one element of the curriculum and stick with it. Maybe you focus in on the memory verse and develop creative ways to incorporate it into practice. Maybe you give out a weekly game ball to an individual on the team who memorizes the memory verse. Do what works best for your team.
Jr. RBI “What is Love?” Curriculum
Our focus is most importantly on prayer this year, especially for Jr. RBI. The verse and weekly wisdom are simply designed as a lead in to a weekly prayer over the kids. We are essentially speaking truth over them threefold.
Verse of the Year: “Love is patient. Love is kind. It does not want what belongs to others. It does not brag. It is not proud. It does not dishonor other people. It does not look out for its own interests. It does not easily become angry. It does not keep track of other people’s wrongs.” – 1 Corinthians 13:4-5 NIRV
- Week 1 – Love Is Patient
- Week 2 – Love Is Kind
- Week 3 – Love Doesn’t Want What Belongs to Others
- Week 4 – Love Doesn’t Brag
- Week 5 – Love Doesn’t Disrespect Others
- Week 6 – Love Isn’t Selfish
- Week 7 – Love Doesn’t Get Easily Angry
- Week 8 – Do You Know the Love of Jesus?
We will share the remaining content soon.
