What a summer!
Austin Mayor Steve Adler, Round Rock Express General Manager Tim Jackson and President Chris Almendarez, and Olympian Cat Osterman congratulate our Jr. RBI League MVPs on a great summer season during Closing Ceremonies at Triple-A for a Day!
The 2016 RBI Austin Summer Season has wrapped up, and it was one to celebrate! With 819 kids playing on 59 teams (up from 656 kids on 47 teams in 2015), this was our biggest summer yet. Overall, the summer comprised of 375 games and we cannot thank enough our amazing RBI parents, partners, and 348 volunteers for their crucial role in this season’s success!
In addition to the summer league and playoffs for Jr. RBI (girls ages 4-14, boys ages 4 – 12) and RBI (boys ages 13-18), many relationships were formed among players, parents, families, coaches, and mentors.
Jr. RBI Recap

The season ended on Saturday, August 6th with six teams being crowned 2016 Jr. RBI Champions, capped off by our Closing Ceremonies at the annual Triple-A for A Day festivities at Mabson Field. Mayor Steve Adler and Olympian Cat Osterman recognized our Team and League MVPs, and the Round Rock Express brought their game day entertainment to the final two championship games.

The New Orleans MLB Urban Youth Academy hosted the tournament, and our RBI Austin teams competed with some of the top talent in the Southwest. Highlights included our 15U team’s 7-5 victory over Baton Rouge RBI and our 18U team’s 13-5 victory over Northwest Houston RBI. Check out photos from the RBI Southwest Regional tournament here.
