2019 Impact Report

It feels like 2019 came and went right before our eyes, but what a treasure of a year it was! At the heart of RBI Austin is the desire to point everyone in our community to a bigger, better, eternal sense of belonging. A belonging to God that only comes through Jesus Christ.

Because of your support, more inner-city Austin youth are hearing, seeing, and believing that they belong — to a team, to a community, and to a Creator.

RBI Mentoring – A Story of Hope

Why Coach?

We believe coaches are way more than just a leader of a sports team. Coaches are mentors and game changers. We believe that coaches can be some of the most influential adults in a child’s life — both on and off the field.

RBI Austin uses the incredible games of baseball and softball to engage and develop youth, and we are now recruiting coaches!

RBI Austin coaches have the unique opportunity to invest in the lives of their players and develop them into the future leaders of their communities.

Researchers found that after 18 months of spending time with their mentors, children with a mentor (compared to children without mentors) were:

  • 46% less likely to begin using illegal drugs 46% 46%
  • 27% less likely to begin using alcohol 27% 27%
  • 52% less likely to skip school 52% 52%
  • 37% less likely to skip a class 37% 37%
  • 33% less likely to hit someone 33% 33%
